Maria Landi

Berklee School of Music
Student/Musician
Maria Landi is a fourth-semester Songwriting major at Berklee. She began her musical studies at three years old, when she started taking classical violin lessons. Since then, she has studied classical and jazz piano, violin, and voice. While she loves performing, she feels her forte is in writing, and cares deeply about her lyrics. She hopes that her music can continue to inspire revelations to her listeners.

Song Abstract-"We Know" is a deeply personal song to me that explains how being sexually assaulted genuinely affects a woman. It is not made to place blame, but to exemplify how women continuously rise from the adversity they face by forming a community and supporting each other. I wrote it first and foremost to bring to light the brutal effects that result from being sexually assaulted, and hopefully to open people's eyes to recognize how lasting and impactful such experiences can be.
